UFC YTD: 5-4 +2.60 units

Had a big write-up on my picks for tonight's card, and something happened to it. Don't feel like typing it again, as it was quite lengthy. Sorry to those of you looking for reasoning behind my picks. All for 1/2 unit, good luck!

Buentello +389
Sinosic +278
Lytle +170
Gannon +112

Lidell made some punk from Nebraska look like a retard last ufc, and these nebraska-Iowa guys were going on about how he was tough, turnsout it was total bs.

Sinosic has no chance. None. This is a squash match for their TV star in Griffin.

Arlovski may feel some heat on the feet with Buentello, but if he does, he can just take it to the mat and end it with a submission. Paul doesn't have that luxury. His grappling is fairly poor.

Lytle, Gannon, and Hallman are all good 'dogs.

i think that at 4-1,buentello is well worth a small play.....arlovski has been stopped 3 times in 11 fights....vs solid strikers.....

he really hasn`t beaten any great fighters...unless you think sylvia`s great.....

physically,it looks like a finely tuned athlete vs a dishwasher.....but this dishwasher can box and has very heavy hands.....

don`t get me wrong...i understand that arlovski is a much better athlete...more well rounded...more imposing....and is expected to win....

but,he`s been stopped 3 times by punchers.....and that`s what buentello is....

the riggs fight is very interesting....he`s gonna have a substantial weight advantage entering the ring....is awfully powerful....

but,he`s come down from being a 300 pound guy to a 170 pounder?....whoa......

wondering about his cardio...because lytle`s never been stopped....

if this makes it to the 3rd round,it`ll be interesting to see if riggs has any gas left....

sobral big...along with a parlay on griffin....small dog play on buentello....and a small play(-107) on hinkle...

Buentello is no pushover, certainly - but Arlovski has demonstrated that his skills are a cut above the norm for the UFC's heavyweight division. Granted, he hasn't faced top competition, but he hasn't had to struggle with anyone, either. He does exactly what an elite-level fighter should: he smokes B-level opposition.

Buentello looked pathetic in the closing seconds of his fight with Kevin Jordan, who also managed to clip him several times. Arlovski will not fold due to conditioning. While you can make the case Andrei has been TKOed several times, you have to acknowledge that Buentello has lost 5 times via submission, which is a huge compontent of Arlovski's game.

Arlovski via submission.

i certainly wouldn`t play him at close to even odds....playing him at almost 4-1...giving him a puncher`s chance.....

4-1 dogs don`t usually hit...but,buentello has an outside chance...

arlovski has some decent high kicks, if i remember correctly....that could also be a factor....

that was a picture perfect counter right hand from arlovski....buentello made the mistake of drawing his right hand back...just a bit...and arlovski dropped the hammer straight from the shoulder...ala joe louis...

doesn`t take much oomph on a shot when you pivot and turn your body with the shot...six inches...and goodnight...

i was seriously impressed by that punch...text book....

and i was impressed by buentello`s willingness to stand in the pocket....that was his only shot...arlovski was more technically sound...and a tad quicker....

buentello did what he had to...arlovski did it better...thus,there`s your 4-1 favorite...

it was short...but it was like a course in boxing 101....

Now you see why all the doggies other than Gannon had such long odds against them...LOL.

Just can't see laying that kind of wood when anything can happen. 0-4, -2.00 units is never fun, but by only laying a half unit with the chance to make some decent coin is a risk I'm willing to; and did; take. On to the next card. Hopefully we will see some fights that are a tad bit more compelling than last nights.

What are you trying to say, Railbird?

That jeremy horn is not a tough guy? Trust me, I've seen him fight several times here locally and the dude is a bad ass. But Chuck Liddell is the baddest of the bad asses in the light heavyweight division. Besides, he didnt get TKO'd until late in the 4th round. I'd hardly say that Horn was a stiff in that fight. Good Luck to you in your wagering on the UFC cards.
